NEW Product Research Guide For Google ADs- How To Find Winning Products For Shopping Ads

what is going on guys Rica NASA here so we're finally diving into the ends of product research for Google Ads this has to be the most awaited of tutorial  because honestly from my own research I have not been able to find any good tutorial s regarding product research for Google ads but Google Ads have become a big trending topic for a lot of people just because of the fluctuations they're having to deal with Facebook ads this is a tutorial  that you're gonna want to read until the end just because if you don't you're gonna kind of get lost when it comes to chronic research for Google ads but without wasting any more time let's just jump right into it so the full step-by-step guide to product research for Google ads now this is a quick overview as to what we're gonna be discussing in the tutorial  and in addition to this PowerPoint I already have pulled up a product which I think would make as a great example for this tutorial  which I'll be diving into very soon but there are a lot of different things which make a product a good product for Google Ads it starts off with the products features and then goes on to product quality keyword analysis of the product and then what kind of keywords you can use in the description etc because SEO believe it or not has a really really big impact on your ads for Google so if you take the time when writing your product description to do proper SEO insertion and follow my tutorial  I have on SEO for Shopify you're gonna be really ahead of the competition because again without proper keyword analysis and proper use of SEO techniques you may not really go that far with Google ads and the fourth thing is competition because with Google ads you're just gonna be competing in auctions just like you would for Facebook ads but the beauty about this is that not many people use Google as compared to Facebook ads where literally everybody and their dog wants to start off and the fifth and final thing that makes a good product for Google ads is profit margin so let's begin with the first one product features exactly what kind of product features do you need to even consider the product as something that can be uploaded to your Shopify store and the biggest question you can ask yourself when deciding regarding the product features

is this the product in general matched the keyword that you found for the product or the multiple keywords you may have found if the answer is no you want to immediately drop that product from even considering to upload because if the keywords that you found do not apply to the product people searching for that keyword will not want to purchase this product so I mean you can still run as for it but you're just gonna lose money so the perfect example for this is when a customer searches for wireless printer when you search for the term wireless printer are you expecting to see wireless printers or are you expected to see wired printers if you found a product on Aliexpress which is a printer with the wire and it is not wireless it would not be a good decision to include the word of wireless printer in your description because when you include that word in your description Google decides to rank you as one of the listings for that specific keyword so a person searching for wireless printers is either gonna click on your ad and be disappointed that it is not a wireless printer and just exit out costing you money or they're gonna ignore your ad completely so you're not gonna make any sales at all so this is when proper use of keywords comes into play if you want to rank for wireless printers you better have a product on your Shopify store which is actually a wireless printer and the other thing is when it comes to the product features themselves you want to be searching for products to list for the specific keywords that you found meaning wireless printer which fulfilled the products desires plus more and if it fulfills the product desires and a little bit more you may have found a Golden Nugget winning product so what exactly is a product which fulfills the product's desires that people are searching for and more so let's take the wireless printer into consideration one more time let's say people are searching for the keyword a wireless printer hoping to find a printer that is wireless and they see your listing for a printer which is wireless but in addition it offers Bluetooth control via your phone or any other device and they can print whatever they want to print from miles

and miles away so not only is this wireless printer giving them the ability to print whatever they want without any use of any wires but you're also giving them the option of printing these things from 10 miles away 20 miles away so they don't even have to be in their home to do it so as you can see if you offer them extra features for the same exact keyword this is where products really start to sell like fire and with Google app it is much much more consistent than Facebook ad so you can be expecting a lot more stability with Google ads once you find these golden winning nuggets but you don't have to always find golden nuggets to make money off of Google Ads as long as the keyword search and the products that you have on your store match you have the ability of making six figures with Google Ads a product features is only part of the overall product research method the second one is product quality and one question I always ask myself when doing product research for Google Ads is is the product that I'm trying to find standing true to the prizing that I have listed the product at and the pricing itself depends on a lot of different things not just of what you think it should be priced at the pricing depends on the quality of the photos your al Express supplier has or the quality of the photos you can find in total in the description as well what kind of SEO keywords you use in the description and finally the product page speed yes if you have a slow product page no matter what pricing you list it at people get frustrated dealing with such slow pages and they are better off just not purchasing from you at all so all of these things really matter when it comes to pricing your product and

you want to make sure you have all these things on point before prising your product but one thing you always always want to do is stay away from products which have bad reviews meaning less than 3 stars in total out of 5 stars or products which can stop working within a few days or weeks upon purchase and this goes really to those electronic products like wireless printers because there is too much risk involved with these products I'm sure you have better things to do then just deal with these refunds because the customer ordered the product and two days later it stopped working so product quality as you can see depends on a lot of different things but what I want to show you guys is one specific product which I found which matches the criteria we've gone over so far when doing product research for Google Ads I want you to think of it as keyword research rather than product research because that exactly what it is it isn't really involved with product we sure but more involved with keyword research because no matter what kind of great product you have with what kind of benefits I mean it can be a teleporter which lets you teleport from one destination to

the next but if there is zero search volume for that specific product and it's search terms on Google you're not gonna make any sales period so think of product research ask keyword research but I found a great product on Aliexpress and this is a cell phone screen magnifier so whenever you find a product via Aliexpress and you can use Aliexpress the home page or the Aliexpress flash deals or Amazon Movers & Shakers list whatever you use it doesn't matter as long as there is a substantial amount of search volume for that specific product so this product right here once you do find a specific product you want to get a general idea of what that product is and usually I like to figure that out by looking at the title itself as well as the images maybe even scroll down and look at the descriptions I want to get a general idea of what that product is so I can do proper keyword research using the keyword planner tool on Google Ads so it looks like this product right here is this mobile phone screen amplifier and these are all specific keywords we can use when doing product research and I'll show you guys exactly what I mean in just a second but the first thing we see is that it is called the tutorial  amplifiers screen magnifier so that's what we want to do when searching for this product on Google Keyword planner so let's go ahead and go on over to our keyword planner tool and I've already searched it up so what you want to do is use the keyword planner tool to search up the general search

term for that product so what I did is I searched up phone screen magnifier and what you want to do is come over here to the filters you want to filter out specific keywords which don't match our criteria the first criteria is that the average monthly searches should be greater than or equal to 500 sometimes I even like to set this out a thousand you don't want to be using any search terms which are less than 500 at minimum but nowadays again a thousand just because if there's not even at least a thousand search volume for each month for that keyword you're not gonna make as many sales if any at all so put this at a thousand and the of the page bid high range should be less than or equal to $5 that is just a minimum criteria I have it set it but once you do have it set out at these specific metrics what you want to do is go down and click on the average monthly searches so that the most amount of average monthly searches are shown at the top we want to go from top to bottom so now all we have to do is just scroll through these keywords and see which keyword that we can search on google to see whether it matches our specific products so let's go in and go through our keywords and see if you can find anything like that so magnifier this keyword doesn't necessarily match our product because our product is a magnifier for cell phones specifically it is not just a general magnifier so let's keep on scrolling through again magnifying glass with light this is not a magnifying

glass it's a gold Apple read band again not related to our product at all so we keep on scrolling through until we find something that is related uh-hah there we go iPhone magnifier so as we can see our product it was sort of a screen magnifier but it can be used with an Android or all other smartphones or even an iPhone so if we go back we can see that the iPhone magnifier it has an average monthly searches of 5,400 or more per month bingo that is a good sign that this keyword is something we may want to use so in this case what we do is we go ahead and copy the entire search keyword and we go on over to a specific website and this website is called I search from calm we choose country United States language English and for device we leave it at current and we go ahead and paste in the specific keyword and we click on search so this is a special developer tool that lets you only search up Google shopping product ads for products so as you can see it says right here this page is a tool for AdWords advertisers to test their products or goo full Google functionality return to the Google homepage so we want to stay on this page and look at the specific ads we

see on the right for Google ads so from these Google ads what we're trying to find out is how much competition there is for this product what price people are listing it at and what kind of products are being listed for this search keyword so as you can see for the iPhone magnifier we already saw and a listing for Amazon and it looks like it is a very very similar product to what we have opened up here so we have the iPhone and all other smartphones screen magnifier and that is exactly what this product is if we look at this ad right here it looks like it is a very very similar product to ours as well and this one as well looks like an almost identical product to ours but before continuing on with this example I want to go ahead and go on over and continue on with the slide show to cover all of our other slides because those are very very related to our next step so again looking our product quality we saw the quality of the current product that we were looking at and it had good reviews for it meaning above three stars at least and the other products we saw on Google for the same exact keyword for the keyword we were searching the product quality actually matched ours from Aliexpress so this could be a potential product we want to list on our store but we're not fully sure yet let's go on over to our third thing which is keyword analysis now keyword analysis is the most important part of the strategy because you want to have a minimum of four keywords relating to the product if you have less than four keywords I would just skip that product entirely I wouldn't even consider

listing it on your store because you need at least a minimum of four keywords to include in your description and your title again if you're not sure as to how to list these specific keywords in your description do check out my SEO tutorial which I have on my websiteit goes fully in-depth with this all of the keywords that you find for this specific product should add up to a monthly search volume of at least 20,000 so as you saw the keyword that we found on Google Keyword planner had a search volume of 5,400 monthly searches so that does not qualify for our 20,000 yet we wanted to find more keywords related to our product and that specific keyword that we found so that it equals to a lease a minimum of 20,000 but in addition to having at least a minimum of 20,000 monthly searches we need to have these keywords have a lease the same or very similar features to of the other ads we saw for that same exact product so when we searched up the iPhone screen magnifier we saw similar products already getting advertised via Google ads and those products look like they have a very similar features to ours so the product we found does match this but we're not fully sure yet because we need to find more keywords but along with keyword analysis we want to be looking at the competition for that specific keyword on the main homepage we saw three other product listings but there could be more so we have to do a little bit more analysis into that product which we will do in a second but when it comes to competition there are two rules you want to

abide by the first one is that product should have low competition meaning less than 10 competitors for that product and/or high margins so ideally you want to have both of these metrics matching but either or can be matched so if a product has high competition it should either have higher profit margins or if it has higher profit margins it can have low competition but even if it has high competition you can't stand out of the crowd by focusing on using a different image and focusing on your SEO for the title and descriptions and usually what I mean by higher profit margins for Google Ads is a minimum of $25 meaning you get the product for $5 in Aliexpress you should be able to sell it for at least $30 on your own store otherwise it may not be a product that you consider adding to your store and again to stand out of the crowd you want to focus on using better images than the competitors and you also want to do price matching I'll go over exactly what price matching is in just a second but remember Google ads is not like Facebook guys where you can just throw up a nice tutorial  ad for the product with the nice ad copy and you're gonna get a lot of sales with Google as it is more search intention based people are already searching for the product and when they see your Google

Ad for that product you need to be able to stand out of the crowd because if you get blended into the crowd nobody is gonna click on your product and undercutting your competitors is not the way to go with Google Ads so what do I mean by not undercutting your competitors what this means is that there is no such thing as forcefully winning auctions in that just like Facebook ads works on auctions Google Ads also works on auctions your product goes into a specific auction and whatever bid limit you have set your average has been if that product wins the auctions within that specific bid limit your ad gets shown to that specific searcher but if you just undercut the competitor and just let's say for example a competitor has set the price at $30 but you decide to undercut them deeply and set it at $25 not only do you cut the profit margin for your ownself but now the competitor is maybe will sell it after $24 and as you see you just started a price war and this just leads to nobody getting profits from that product and you're just gonna end up going into a loss and just make that product into a big big failure so again you can't forcefully win auctions so the best thing to do in this case is to just price and match your competitor meaning if your competitor has a present $30 you will also need to set it at $30 but the different thing they can do is use different images different titles different keywords etc and when it comes to pricing your product exclude the big retail stores like Amazon Walmart Target etc you can't compete with them so the only people you want to be competing with is other drop shipping stores and it is really easy to weed out the drop shipping stores from the crowd

because they often have really crazies names for their stores so if we go back to our example right here for the iPhone magnifier we can see that the second store the store name is Ivan see I mean no real retail store would like to name their store I've Angie so clearly this is a drop shipping store the other two competitors are Amazon so we can't really compete with Amazon so we exclude these specific listings we don't even look at what they have prized their product at because clearly Amazon is priced at $1 and on Aliexpress the price for this product itself if we count shipping and everything if we choose a packet which is about two dollars and fifty eight cents comes to about three dollars and if we were surprise match with Amazon it would barely have four dollars of profit which is not enough at all for Google but if we match with I've an Zients sell our product for 20 dollars we can have a good profit margin of above fifteen dollars or so and even in this case it may not be enough so I may not even consider adding this product to my store but let's continue on to show you guys how the product research method works but once you have searched for a specific keyword you want to go ahead and go back to our specific keyword planner tool and continue on looking at the keywords that we have found and see if we can't find anything that is similar to our product that we have found so reading magnifier again not something we may want to list as one of the keywords but aha there you go magnifying glass for Android this may be something that doesn't match

the product so the best thing to do is just paste it into the special window right here and boom there we go we see the same product for Amazon again but this time we see a few different competitors for a few different products we want to get a general idea of what they're selling the product at and see if we can't find a product within these specific listings which is similar to ours there we see I've Angie again but we want to see something else if you can find any more products Amazon has said the price of that same product at $30 which is a good thing but it looks like we will have to sell our product at $20 because I've Angie over here has decided to undercut the competitors and so at a lower price so as you can see price wars just kill out a product very quickly but in general you will just scroll through every single keyword search up every single keyword which matches our product and add up the monthly search volumes to see whether it reaches a minimum of 20,000 if it does reach a minimum of 20 thousand in total after adding all these up that is a product you want to use to your store and these specific keywords you will want to use in your description again if you're not sure as to how to set up these Google Ads I have a full tutorial on just setting up

Google ads from start to finish do is check that out along with SEO keywords but you would go step by step through each of these keywords search them up on our special window and then determine whether this product is worth adding to your store or not but this is the general process for doing product research you want to take all the things that we went over and the Google slides in account and then look on the daily deals on Aliexpress Amazon Movers & Shakers eBay anything you can get your hands on and see which products really have a good search volume per month so one key tip if you're still reading this tutorial  for you is I like to avoid beauty products fashion products because fashion trends change per day actually along with beauty products there's a lot of problems associated with the beauty products and the same goes for electronics so when doing product research you just want to look for something that really catches your eye and once that does catch your eye you just want to search it up via the keyword planner tool and see if there is a proper search volume for that so for example out of all of these products that I see over here this product disk catch my eyes so what I would do then is go in and and click on the product see overall what exactly this product is and again you can get a general idea by looking at the title or the description

so it looks like it is a beard of shaping or styling tool so we go on over to our keyword planner tool open up our specific search bar and search up exactly what we think the product is so beard shaper tool and then we hit search and make sure that our metrics are properly aligned and again we try to see if we can there's a lot of average monthly searches for that product so it looks like the term we just searched up beard shaping tool has only a search volume of 2900 and these other search terms don't necessarily line up with the search term beard shaping tool but again you would want to go through every single one of these and see if it adds up to 20,000 if it doesn't then you may want to consider skipping that product but sometimes it is worth uploading because and this is a really victim for seasonal products because let for example let's say you find a portable heater that you want to list on your Shopify store but right now it is summer so nobody's searching for the portable heater so the average monthly searches are gonna be really really low but you may still want to list that right now because come winter time that average monthly search volume is gonna go through the roof so you're gonna have a really big advantage at that time but once you do find

a specific search term which does match your product you just want to copy it going over the specific special tool for AdWords planners and go in and paste it in and see if you can find specific products related to that keyword as you can see we've found a multiple heater but make sure there's not more than 10 competitors for that product and it looks like this is a low ticket product so it may be hard to compete with these other people but that is the general strategy when it comes to product research if you have any questions don't hesitate to comment down below but if you found any type of value be sure to smash the like button to please the website gods and subscribe while you're at it but I'll see you guys next time.
