First of all, you need to be fluent in Englishor have a very good level and you'll need access to a computer with internet. Make sure to go to the website here at app.qa-world.com. Let's apply with our first and last name,then email address, and you can specify how you heard about QA world. Then click Apply. Now you'll be told that an email has beensent to your inbox that will contain a link to a short transcription test. If you pass this test, you'll be approvedto be a paid transcriptionist on the platform.  I'll head over to my inbox to find this confirmationemail welcoming me to QA world. 

Now let's click on the link here to go tothe short transcription test. First we'll be directed to a page to createa transcriber account by entering in a password. Our username will be the email we signed upwith. Then click Create Account. And now we have the English transcriptiontest. I will say this much. This is the easiest transcription test I haveever taken. I have done tests for Rev and Crowdsurf. Rev's transcription test is extremely difficultto pass even if you have a perfect level of English. And the transcription test for GoTranscriptis an absolute joke. It's so hard to hear what they are sayingthat even a native English speaker can't understand. But QA world has a simple audio clip withone speaker. You just need to type out what the personsays with correct punctuation, spelling and grammar, and you don't need to include anyspeaker labels or timestamps. It is super, super simple and easy if youspeak and understand English. Again, I don't approve or condone cheating. So I'm not writing the answer out here. But once you transcribe it, just click Submittranscription. And just like that, I was approved with anotification saying I got the job. This was the easiest transcription platformto pass by far. Now they tell you a bit about the pay, whichis around 20 cents per audio minute. 

Let me be clear that this is extremely lowpay. So I only recommend this job for people wholive in a country where the cost of living is low, or if you're desperate for cash, oreven if you want to get some transcription experience and work your way up to becomea professional and higher paid transcriptionist. Also you can see here that the pay is weeklyon Wednesday evening, and also it is via PayPal. After you get this confirmation, you'll getinformation about joining Slack, which is a workspace and community to get answers andhelp from others who are transcribing, or to talk to the support staff for QA world. Now, let's click on setup account. Then read and sign the NDA and click Continue. Now you have to read the privacy policy andtake the quiz on the privacy policy. But all the information you need for thisquiz is on this page. And don't worry if you answer incorrectly. They will highlight your incorrect answerin red giving you the option to switch before submitting again. So you aren't at risk to lose your transcriberstatus if you don't answer correctly, but you do need to eventually get all the answerscorrect before proceeding. So fill out the quiz and then click Submitanswers and continue. Now enter your PayPal email to receive paymentand click Continue.

 So now you can set up slack so you can reachout to anyone for help if you need to, and then click Continue again. You can read a site explanation tutorial , andthen click Complete account setup. You'll go through an FAQ on transcribing forQA world, which you should read through in detail and make notes. Again, you'll have nine questions to answerbefore proceeding. But like the last quiz, you are allowed tomake mistakes. I recommend hitting Ctrl plus F on your keyboardto search for the answers to the questions within the FAQ guide. Once you're done, click Submit answers andcontinue. Now you'll be given several links to trainingtutorial s, quality rating guidelines and sample transcripts, which is all great practice beforestarting. Once you've reviewed these materials, justclick Continue. And you can review the FAQ again or just clickstart transcribing to get started. This will open up a page where you can acceptjobs and also check out the leaderboard. So I blurred the names of the people on theleaderboard to protect their privacy. But you can see here how many minutes theyhave transcribed, so they're getting a lot of work each week. If you scroll down, you'll see there's a smallbonus of $2 if you transcribe 100 minutes in a week, and you'll see there are 37 callsavailable. Also, you'll see the estimated call lengthand how much you're estimated to make transcribing the call, in addition to the time allowedto complete the transcription. All of these are phone conversations betweentwo people.

 So you don't need to worry about labelingspeakers other than identifying the customer rep and the customer. The downside of this platform is that youcannot preview listening to the call before you accept the job, which is unfortunate sincethere may be some that are more difficult than others, but you can cancel up to fivea day. When you're ready to start transcribing, clickstart work. Be advised here that you will only be paidfor transcripts that meet quality guidelines. Then click OK. Now you'll see I've got this error 401 popup, but don't worry, that just means someone else took the job before you did. So just go back and choose another one. This will get you into the platform whereyou can start transcribing. Now I would love to click start work and showyou how to transcribe and use the platform. But QA world prohibits sharing images of theplatform itself, so I'm unable to however it's really simple to use. Basically, you need to transcribe statementby statement and there is a built in automatic text to speech to help you. Sometimes the statements are already automaticallywritten out correctly if the speaker has a really clear voice, but most of the time youneed to edit them and make sure the customer and rep labels are correct. When you're done you click Save edits thatnext statement and continue editing until you finish. If you decide you don't want to transcribethe call because it is too difficult, simply click release this call to cancel the job,you can cancel five jobs per day maximum. 

There is also a list of keyboard shortcutsto help you while you're transcribing. And finally they have a glossary which isa list of companies or businesses that you are transcribing their calls. So this will help you with spelling thesenames when you hear them. So I recommend you go through all the materialthoroughly before you begin transcribing. My overall thoughts on QA world is that itis very easy to get accepted providing you hear and write English well. However, the pay is very low. And I think you can make more money with otherplatforms like Rev or Crowdsurf. But this is a good website for people whowant to learn and practice transcribing and for beginners, or for people who are desperateto make money online and who are fluent in English.
